Hay muchos verbos y expresiones comunes para hablar del transporte y de los viajes y desplazamientos.
Hay que tener en cuenta tanto los verbos como las preposiciones que se usan para los medios de transporte.
Aquí los verbos para hablar del transporte en inglés:
drive = conducir, manejar
ride = montar (o ir de pasajero)
fly = volar
walk = andar, caminar
go by car, go by bus, go by metro / train / tube = ir en coche, etc
go on foot = ir a píe (fíjate en la preposición: on foot)
get around = moverse (más sobre get around)
catch the bus / train = coger / subirse al autobús / tren
take the bus / train = ir en bus / tren
buy a ticket = comprar un billete
pay the fare / buy a ticket = pagar el billete / pasaje (fare se usa específicamente para hablar del dinero que pagas para usar el transporte)
miss your plane / train = perder el avión/tren
get lost = perderse
lose your passport = perder el pasaporte
